I'm Sciolyperson1, also known as JC or JC01010. I'm a junior competing on West Windsor-Plainsboro High School North's Science Olympiad team in New Jersey. In my 7th through 9th grade years, I competed on Community Middle School's team, and was the captain of the team in my 9th grade year. He often participants in building events, but does some inquiry events, such as Write It Do It and writes Write It CAD It tests for numerous invitationals. In 10th grade, I write Road Scholar tests for invitationals, but throughout my virtual 11th grade year, I was able to not just write, but supervise and grade for numerous other competitions that I typically wouldn't be able to participate in.
Since then, I've touched upon events such as Mission Possible, Write It CAD It, Gravity Vehicle, and Cybersecurity. I've also helped to put together Cybersecurity rules, a trial event in a few state competitions. I'm also a co-director for the first annual BirdSO Invitational.

Event Placements
2016-2017 (7th Grade, Div B)
At the beginning of the year, I was placed on Community Middle School's B team, attending Little Tiger Invitational, Rustin Invitational, and Regionals. After no-showing Scrambler and Mission Possible at Rustin and not understanding how Science Olympiad even worked, he finished with a 1st place in Towers, 2nd place in Mission Possible (solo), and 4th place in Scrambler (solo) at Little Tiger Invitational, earning him a promotion to the A team. I went on to obtain 4 gold medals at states, as well as a 3rd place in Mission Possible at Wright State University's 2017 National Tournament.

2017-2018 (8th Grade, Div B)
At the beginning of the season, I was assigned to only two events: Battery Buggy and Towers. However, I picked up Write It Do It when the writer on the A team was looking for a doer and unexpectedly placed first at Rustin Invitational. In addition, I placed first in Towers and 2nd in Battery Buggy. I also attended Little Tiger, this time as a competitor on the A team, placing first in all three of my events. After bombing Battery Buggy and finding out that his writer was colorblind (placed 13th out of 18), I went on to obtain five medals at the state tournament (still salty about finishing WIDI in <5 minutes and not winning). I continued with my Battery Buggy practice and ended up placing 5th at the national tournament, where the team placed 3rd (unexpectedly) with only 5 medals for the entire team.

2018-2019 (9th grade, Div B)
In my 9th grade year, we chose to attend more competitive invitationals: LISO and Cornell, on top of the previous Rustin and Garnet Valley Invitationals. As a captain of the team, I picked up Roller Coaster, a problem event in the previous season. He also picked up Mystery Architecture. I placed poorly at Rustin; winning Battery Buggy, but bombing Boomilever and Mystery Architecture. My Roller Coaster (as well as Road Scholar, Battery Buggy, and Mystery Architecture) partner, Builderguy135 and I decided to bring our conservative version of our Roller Coaster to invitationals, causing him wins at any Rustin, Garnet Valley, and Cornell Invitationals. I also tried to pick up Road Scholar, but was unable to do so well.
After barely not winning four of his events at Garnet Valley, I continued the poor placements in my events at Cornell Invitational, unexpectedly winning as a team. I then obtained four gold medals at the state competition, and ended up with another 4 national medals, winning Roller Coaster and placing 3rd as a team for the second time.
2019-2020 (10th Grade, Div C)
I entered division C at WW-P High School North, participating in Boomilever, Gravity Vehicle, Ping Pong Parachute, and Write It Do It as my main events. Compared to division B, I didn't take competition nearly as seriously, as we unstacked throughout the season. However, the teams continued to place well at invitationals: placing 1st at LISO, Conestoga, and Princeton, and placing 3rd at MIT. Although placing well at competitions in Gravity Vehicle, I continue to dislike the event due to the incorporation of luck in the event. After winning the state tournament for the first time since 2018 with a score of 61, the national tournament was cancelled.

2020-2021 (11th Grade, Div C)
In my 11th grade year, due to the cancellation of in-person competitions, I decided to put more effort into supervising and writing tests, rather than competing. I started with SMEC, running monthly events for students and others to participate in. Throughout the season, in collaboration with a few others, we were able to help out with the Scilympiad platform, testing and debugging it for competitions to use.
